The Curt-A-Sea Crew
Captain Curt Slonim
Captain Curt is the owner and operator of Curt-A-Sea Aquatic Adventures located on Lower Metacumbe Key in beautiful Islamorada. Curt has been fishing and diving tropical waters around the world since early childhood. He is a Coast Guard Masters 100 Ton licensed captain, PADI Dive Master (with DAN Oxygen Provider) and is a First Rescue Responder.
Curt has earned his fishing pedigree by fishing side by side with some of the most well-known and best Captains in the business. He started his own company in 2003, and has developed a diverse client base with education institutions, corporations, media networks and fishing enthusiasts. He has been involved in break-through research as it relates to ocean conservation and has experience working with film crews. Curt loves having people of all ages and abilities on the boat and promises an unforgettable adventure on the water.
Dave Sivley, First Mate
Born and raised near Fort Worth, Texas, Dave Sivley, a young 20-something, has been fishing professionally since 2003. He's fished two seasons in New Zealand and one season in Australia for striped, black and blue marlin. He followed up those experiences with six years fishing and diving in Key West as a freelancer. Meanwhile, Dave picked up his 6-pack Captain's license as well as working his way up to Dive Instructor.
He got serious (ha!) about being on the water by moving to Tavernier to be closer to Islamorada, the Sport Fishing Capital of the World and starting his own charter boat business. As our first mate, Dave can handle the boat systems, rig us for diving, fishing or many kinds of research, or help out in the galley. We have no doubt his young son, Lake, will be following in Dave's footsteps shortly.
JUNE BRINKMAN, PROJECT MANAGER
Whether we need the galley stocked, bait cut, supplies for maintenance and repairs, phone calls returned, the website updated, fuel ordered, research on best practices, or many other projects done, June is the "go to" person for Curt-A-Sea Aquatic Adventures to ensure our customers have the best experience possible. She's found her B.S. degree in Biology quite useful as well as her years of school teaching and 25 years of promotional marketing in the corporate world. It's a great bonus that she loves being on the water and shares our passion for conservation efforts for all creatures to have a better world.
